Marissa brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients that is somewhat unique for lawyers. Marissa began her legal career working as a paralegal gaining valuable hands-on experience before representing her own clients. This gave Marissa the ability to learn from experienced litigators, and she uses that knowledge to advocate for her clients in depositions, mediations, negotiations, and the Courtroom.
Coming from a divorced family herself, Marissa brings a personal touch to her clients’ experience, and not only advocates for her clients in the litigation process, but also refers clients to other resources, such as family and co-parenting counselors, when necessary. Marissa recognizes that divorce and custody cases do not just “end” when the litigation is over and strives to set her clients up for success after the litigation process. Marissa's passion for client advocacy leaves clients feeling heard and supported through a difficult period in their lives.

During Marissa’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her Husband, Nick; their two boys; their two dogs; and other family. Marissa also enjoys volunteering in the community that she and her family love so much.
The divorce process has been a new and stressful experience for me, as it also involves my children. First of all, I got a response in less than 15 minutes from when I first tried to contact Marissa. We had initially explored the process with another attorney, who had the experience but for whatever reason took a week or more to answer the simplest question. Marissa and her staff were quick to answer questions and appropriately acknowledged they had received some information and set our expectations for what to expect next and when.
